Frequently asked questions
The questions clients ask most, about the stages, the cost, and certifying documents for use abroad.
General How do I get started?
Send us the document details on LINE or by email, with the destination country and the authority asking for it. We'll check it and tell you the stages involved, the timeframe we can estimate and the total cost. We start once you confirm.
General How is the fee worked out?
It depends on the document type, the number of pages, the language pair and the certification stages the receiving authority requires. We put the total in writing before any work starts. Government and embassy fees are separate items, charged at the rate the authority itself collects.

No. We handle the whole process online, from the assessment and the cost confirmation through to following up with the authorities. When the work is done we send the certified originals to your address with a tracking number.
General Can you issue a quotation, and how do I pay?
We issue a written quotation on request, for individuals and for companies. The payment channels, and the accounting documents we can provide, come with that quotation before any work starts.
General How are my documents handled?
We use the documents and information you send only for the work you have asked us to do. We do not disclose them to a third party, apart from filing them with the authorities your own matter requires.
General Do you handle legal work as well?
Yes. Drafting and reviewing contracts, drafting wills, petitioning the court to appoint an estate administrator, company registration, legal advice and other legal work. If you are not sure whether your matter is in scope, ask us.

Thai and English is the pair we work in most. Other languages go through the network of translators who work with us regularly. If yours is an uncommon one, ask first and we'll confirm whether we can take it before quoting.
Translation Can your translations be filed with a Thai court or a government office?
Yes. Every translation carries the translator's certificate of accuracy, which is the form Thai courts and government offices accept. Thai law does not require a state-accredited translator, which is a common misunderstanding. If the receiving authority sets extra conditions, tell us.

Certifying a translation confirms that the translation matches the original. Certifying a document, which is Legalization, confirms the document itself or a signature on it. Many jobs need both: the translation is certified first, then the document enters the Legalization chain.
See document translation with certificationTranslation Can I send a photo instead of a scan?
For a quotation, yes, as long as the image is sharp and every corner of the text is visible. For the translation itself, send a scan or the original, so numbers, proper names and stamps read exactly as they do on the document.
Certification What is a notary, and does Thailand have one?
Notarization is the name for certifying a signature or a document. Thailand has no Notary Public in the sense many countries use the term. The equivalent work is done by a Notarial Services Attorney, a lawyer licensed for it by the Lawyers Council of Thailand. In many cases it is the first stage, before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the destination embassy.
Certification How many stages does my document need?
It depends on the authority receiving it. The common sequence is a Notarial Services Attorney, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and last the embassy of the destination country. Some countries need one stage only, and some cases need all three. Send us the details and we'll tell you which stages yours needs.

Not yet. Thailand starts using the Apostille in 2027. Until then a Thai document going abroad still goes through the Legalization chain in the usual order. If your filing date falls in the transition, tell us first so we can plan which route to take.

It depends on the document type and the authority you are filing with, because each embassy and each office sets its own steps. We give you the timeframe we can estimate when we quote, and update you when the status changes. If you have a firm filing date, send it, and we'll tell you straight whether it can be met.
Legal services Do you handle company registration?
Yes, both limited companies and partnerships, and later changes to the registration. Where a foreign investor is involved there are now extra supporting documents to prepare, and we can check them before filing.

Yes. Even when a will names an administrator, that person has no authority over the estate straight away. A petition has to be filed for the court to appoint them under that will. What differs from a case with no will is the proof required and the documents to prepare.
